Angelita Mendoza is an award-winning Mexican-American film director and editor based in Los Angeles. She discovered her passion for film as a child in her father’s video stores, which became her first film school.

Her short films have screened at top festivals, including New York Film Festival, HollyShorts, Urbanworld, and Reel Sisters of the Diaspora. The Last Light was licensed by Cine Sony and aired on national television, while her one-minute short You Deserve It won the Grand Prize at the Moët Moment Film Festival.

Her latest short film, The Blue Drum, was selected for NALIP’s Women of Color Incubator, sponsored by Netflix, and is now streaming on Netflix, expanding her reach to a global audience.

In addition to directing, Angelita has nearly 20 years of experience as an editor, crafting high-impact trailers, promos, and branded content for top networks and brands, including HBO, A&E, Lifetime, Nickelodeon, Rolling Stone, and Pepsi. Her keen storytelling instincts and bold visual approach make her a sought-after creative force in both narrative and commercial work.
